Munster Finals of the Jimmy Bruen Shield were played at Cobh Golf Club on the 05th and 06th August. Preparations for the tournament were going on for weeks, and a huge Marquee was erected to cater for more than 300 participants and travelling supporters.
While strong gales amid a yellow weather warning made for a challenging start of play on Saturday, the conditions became much better from lunchtime on Saturday. Only four of the last 16 teams (Monkstown vs Tramore, Clonmel vs. Tipperary) stayed in the competition for the Semi-Finals and the Final on Sunday.
The Final saw Clonmel and Tramore battling it out in beautiful sunny conditions. Clonmel emerged victorious after a tight game. Congratulations to all participants, and especially to the Winners!
