Ladies Club

The Ladies Section at Cobh Golf Club is a vibrant and welcoming part of the club that brings together female golfers of all ages and abilities. It plays a central role in the life of the club, fostering a supportive community where members can improve their skills, enjoy friendly competition, and share their love of the game in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.
Throughout the golf season, the Ladies Club organises an engaging programme of events and competitions, from regular club days and internal tournaments to special fixtures such as the popular annual Neighbours Cup, which sees teams from around the region come together for spirited competition and social connection.
Members also benefit from access to coaching opportunities, including group clinics and personalised instruction from the club’s golf professional, helping golfers at every level to develop their game. Beyond competition and coaching, the Ladies Section plays an important social role, with gatherings, prize presentations, and other activities that strengthen friendships and make being part of the club a truly enjoyable experience.
Neighbours Cup
The Ladies Neighbours Cup is a much-anticipated annual fixture at Cobh Golf Club, celebrating friendship, community, and the spirit of the game. Held each year, this special event brings together lady golfers from neighbouring clubs for a day of competitive golf played in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Cork Harbour, the course at Cobh provides both a scenic and sporting challenge, adding to the prestige of the occasion. The competition typically features a team format, encouraging camaraderie and connection as players represent their home clubs with pride.
More than just a tournament, the Ladies Neighbours Cup is a social highlight in the club calendar. It reflects the strong bonds between Cobh and surrounding clubs, fostering lasting friendships while promoting sportsmanship and enjoyment of the game. The day often concludes with refreshments, prize presentations, and plenty of shared stories — a fitting end to a memorable celebration of ladies’ golf.


Gold Standard award, Women In Golf Charter.
The award is a successful culmination of up to three years of hard work buy our club in delivering equality for women in golf across multiple areas, equal access to timesheets, representation on committees and more. These clubs are at the vanguard of change in delivering gender equality in golf and Ireland, and Golf Ireland are delighted to be able to reward their efforts.
There are up to 81 clubs on the island of Ireland now at Gold Standard in the Women In Golf Charter.
The Women in Golf Charter Gold Standard is a chance for clubs to be leaders in this area, in delivering the cultural change necessary to ensure that golf is a sport for everyone.
Get Into Golf, Ladies Programme
Getting into golf via a Women’s Get into Golf programme has been a hugely positive way for thousands of women to learn how to play the sport in a supported environment. The GIG programme includes lessons with a PGA Professional and on course activities that allow participants to learn new skills, meet people of a simliar ability and get to know current members too.
Get into Golf programmes generally run from Spring into Summer.
